Dog Soldiers
The Descent

The Descent was the movie that made me realize I was claustrophobic. Just the opening act was terrifying enough to me.

The Reckoning (2020)
★ ★
As a vanity project for star/co-producer/co-writer Charlotte Kirk, giving her so much space to work only emphasizes the emptiness of that space. She's not bad, but she does nothing to distinguish herself in any way. She also looks and behaves too modern to be believable. Marshall basically remakes The Devils, casting her in the Oliver Reed role. So she stands defiantly chained to torture devices without a hint that any of this stuff will cause pain. The one good scene doesn't involve Kirk, showing another repressed female standing up to her husband by doing something clever. The results remind you that Marshall isn't afraid to go heavy on the red stuff.
