Hey, I'm a newbie on these boards. This sounds like a fun thing to do, especially if we go the "unappreciated directors" route (I've got a doozy to share with the unfortunate person paired up with me!). Not sure how this works, though ... Is there some sort of unspoken "senior members only" rule, or is waving my hand above my head and saying "ooh ooh pick ME" enough?

Welcome HarbingerofDuh, of course anyone can join, just like matt said.  We usually communicate with our dictator/dictatee via personal messages to determine which film will be dictated.  We typically dictate films that the subject has not seen.   I match people up at the beginning of each month after a theme is collectively determine.  One the matches are set, the dictations are given out and the viewing begins.

Feel free to go over and introduce yourself to the forum as well.  We love meeting new members.

Actually, on second thought, I'm going to bow out this month.  Between NOIR-vember, all the new Blu-Rays I have to watch and the holidays, I really don't have time to squeeze in any unplanned viewing.  I'll try to participate in December.
