What's the Dumbest thing you've read on IMDb
« on: November 01, 2006, 08:39:07 PM »
People type a lot of stupid things on the IMDb boards.  What is something you've read?

I heard read this comment in regards to Rushmore:
"Rushmore. Funny? Maybe if you're a pretentious arthouse critic who has completely lost touch with reality"

Well, I'm no arthouse critic.  And I think I have a sense of reality, and I found Rushmore funny.  It's funny to see the lenghts at which people will go to hate on a movie.

That's probably nowhere near the funniest thing on IMDb.  Now come on.  There has to be some really ridiculous things out there on IMDb.  Let's face it, people are idiots.

Basically any post made about the film "United 93".  Basically everyone on that board just complains how the whole thing never happened.

"I am a modern day Samurai, and I live by the code of Bushido. However, in this film has very little if no reference to this warrior code. As a Samurai I feel a bit offended that a director would call his movie "Seven Samurai" and not mention this integral code. Samurais like myself are rare in this modern age but still the director could have done some actual research in a library."

"These are my picks for the top 5 best actresses of our generation:

1.Lindsay Lohan
2.Sarah Michelle Gellar
3.Cher
4.Meryl Streep
5.Debra Messing"

And...

From the White Chicks board:

"So what was the best scene?
for me it was the toilet scene HAHAHA i was wetting myself! XD

When Latrell says he has a big tongue and sticks it out...
OMG, I nearly wet myself!

lol
by far the best scene is when latrell picks up marloyn and sings 1000 miles in the car

OMG, i loved that part, no, i like when one of the brothers went off on the agent, he she was like "im going to have a bf, etc, im writing a letter, then she says - has anyone ever told u u look like denzel washington", the other guy just looked at her, i thought that was so funny

"what a beautiful chocolate man HAHAHAHA!"lol.ALL scenes of latrel are funny,so i dont really have a favorite for him,but for my favorite part of marcus and kevin...well i dont have a favorite for them either,THE ENTIRE MOVIE WAS HILARIOUS!but when theyre in the bmw and start singing lol!watch toi's face when shes singing,it so wierd lol.and when shes like "c minus" and changes it to 50 cent, marucs and kevin:"oooh we da realest *beep* try act u dont feel us *beep* karen:"you guys!i cant believe you just said that!"
and the rest of it lol.dont feel like typn the rest, threads getn long"

Karl, I hate you just a little bit for opening up this Pandora's Box of stupidity. F*ck the IMdB boards, those people are the dregs of society. When we feel like affirming our elitism in the booth, we read what those people have to say.
But for now we are young, let us lay in the sun, count every beautiful thing we can see...

A petition to boycott all of George Clooney's movies because he's a leftist radical... matched by European responses which really wanted to discuss this (with reason)...

This is dumb. So I just watched JP3 on tv. I wanted to see what people were saying about it. Then I found this thread. Now I know why I like this place so much. Actual discourse with people accepting other people's opinions and giving reasons why they like or do not like things. I felt like I had to add in my sarcastic wit, so I am the one at the end (thegunslinger19).

That's pretty much why I huffed and took my crayons home with the Fantasy Mogul thing.  My winning or loosing is going to depend, in part, on the opinions of them?  Nu-uh.

But, yeah, JP3 totally sux0rd.
