Targets needs to be seen by more people, and Daisy Miller is criminally underrated.

You are so right on the former...yet so wrong on the latter.

Did you ever see Irreconcilable Differences? The characters of Albert Brodsky (Ryan O'Neal) and Blake Chandler (Sharon Stone) are based upon Bogdanovich and Cybill Shepherd. Bogdanovich was so hypnotized by his dick's love for Shepherd, that he destroyed his own directing career.

Daisy Miller proved that Shepard was never going to be an even average actress, which was finally driven home by her performance in At Long Last Love.

Masterpiece (100-91) | Classic (90-80) | Entertaining (79-69) | Mediocre (68-58) | Cinemuck (57-21) | Crap (20-0)

@Antares, I know of, but have never seen Irreconcilable Differences. Sounds like Bogdanovich's dick needed some advice from Howard Hawks'.
I think Shepard's especially American gormlessness/charm was nicely suited to the tone Bogdanovich was aspiring to in Daisy Miller. I can see the basis for all the not-love, though.
