My two high school English teacher friends:

"Hmm...I don't remember reading it in high school (though I did in college), and it's not part of our school's freshman or sophomore English curricula. I've not taught American Lit however (an option for students during Jr/Sr year here), and Bierce's work(s) could be part of the American Lit course -- or at least an option in the anthology. Every high school even in the county may have diffferent course offerings and literary selections, of course; I can only speak definitively about my school."

"Interesting question. Yes, I taught it in 9th grade English, but I don't think it was actually in the anthology. I can't remember for sure. I think the teacher who taught Am Lit used it sometimes too. I'm not teaching any survey courses online, so I don't know about those, but my AP Lit and AP Lang courses don't use it."

Oh, it's a short story? I totes read that.

The alternate title is Incident at Owl Creek Bridge.  That's the title I taught it under, but I'm not sure why I had that as the title and not the other one.

I wonder if it is losing popularity. Sad. I really think its pretty great.

There's a Twilight Zone episode of that story, I believe.

Actually a French short film that Twilight Zone aired with some slight editing.

Interesting, it's a pretty good episode so I reckon that means it's a pretty good film too.

Trying to write a script for my Chapman video submission. What they want is a film that isn't about film and doesn't feature myself as an actor. Struggling to write one, I realized that the happiest moments of my life come from talking about film, making a film, or watching a film. Rarely do other things make me truly happy. Is that weird, filmspotting?

I watch the Pro Bowl for the commercials.
Kevin: Yes, why does there have to be evil?

Supreme Being: I think it has something to do with free will.

Verna: I suppose you think you raised hell.

Tom: Sister, when I've raised hell you'll know it.

Got a flat tire on the way home from work tonight.  Called AAA.

Dude looked nothing like Francis Ford Coppola.

And the gun wasn't nearly as helpful as, say, a jack would have been.
