As an adaptation The Wolverine was abysmal, no surprises there. As a movie it was okay, which was sort of a surprise.

The Wolverine
As an adaptation I found all of Jackman's performance in the X-Men movies abysmal. The Wolverine was the first time the Wolverine actually appeared.

That's not Jackman's fault but that of the directors and whoever else decides how to translate the characters to the screen. We won't see a real Wolverine until they reboot the universe.
