Much as I hesitate to replace a poll, I wonder if this one needs a reset with better organization. If so, I'd at least like to wait until after the opening weekend of The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi  (Rian Johnson, 2017)

Despite a stingy number of transitional wipes, a surfeit of ugly, distorting rack focus shots, and some unfortunate digital haziness, The Last Jedi is impressive in its resurrection of the spirit and aesthetic of the films of the original Star Wars trilogy — most specifically, Return of the Jedi, the movie to which it owes its story sense. If that sounds complimentary, you're in for a treat. If Junior likes this film, the imbalance in the force is even more dire than feared.

Grade: C

Oh boy. That's an earthshaking review. We'll see what happens by Monday at the latest. I should maybe fess up that RotJ was my favorite as a kid... And we all know that the one thing that drives Start Wars (films) is nostalgia.

I watched the films again before The Force Awakens and realized that I think Star Wars to me is really the video games of the late '90s and early '00s.
