Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Rian Johnson, 2017)
Despite a stingy number of transitional wipes, a surfeit of ugly, distorting rack focus shots, and some unfortunate digital haziness,
The Last Jedi is impressive in its resurrection of the spirit and aesthetic of the films of the original
Star Wars trilogy — most specifically,
Return of the Jedi, the movie to which it owes its story sense. If that sounds complimentary, you're in for a treat. If Junior likes this film, the imbalance in the force is even more dire than feared.
