Help me remember the movie where....
« on: November 07, 2006, 10:30:58 PM »
I had an idear. I get those sometimes. I thought we needed a topic where we can try to help other people identify movies they can't rembember the names to. That don't make sense. I think an example is neccesary. For example:

I would say "Hey guys. I remember this one movie I got at the library when I was a kid. There was something about hair and kidnapping kids. Help me please."

Then one of our esteemed and knowlegeable members would respond "Why I believe you are thinking of The Peanut Butter Solution. Here is the imdb site: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089789/."

Thats the gist. There doesn't have to be a link, but the general idea is there. I think this could be a great help, or a complete failure. But whatever.

Let me start things off with this:
My friend and I were talking about a movie that traumatized him as a kid. It involved a ventriloquist serial killer. It's not Magic, which was suggested previously. He tells me that there was a scene where he painted himself as the wall and then did something scary. Thanks for your help. Or not.

Is he sure that wasn't a Goosebumps book?  Night of the Living Dummy perhaps?

Sorry to butt in by I have one that's been bothering me for weeks.  I'll just lay it down in the queue over here shall I...

This is what I remember.
--Pretty positive it's from the early 80's
--It's set in the future with lot's of pseudo futuristic devices which are not really futuristic. (eg. normal cars with fiberglass things painted silver so that they look *super cool*)
--It mostly involves some army of good soldiers with these "future" vehicles versus somebody else bad.
--This is my most vivid memory:  They had motorbikes that shoot rockets! And I think the motorbikes had solid rims instead of spokes and of course they were silver or something similar.
--I really think that it had DELTA in the title.  Like DELTA TEAM or DELTA FORCE or DELTA FUTURE MOTORCYCLE ROCKET PEOPLE!

If you remember seeing this movie as a young'un please point me to a web page please.  I need to remember this movie so that the self hypnosis and the memory purging can begin in earnest...

Thanx

Not to put too fine a point on it, but when was he a kid? That kind of information might be pertinent if someone happens to stumble across a list of movies featuring homicidal ventriloquists.

I own a VHS copy of the Peanut Butter Solution.  Amazing kids film.  Well, amazingly bad, but I still love it.  It another highly influential film on my life.  I remeber my parents waking me up early on a Saturday morning and dragging me downstairs, it was 6AM cause I remember HBO showing the time the next film was going to start, which was the Peanut Butter Solution.  I also remember my parents hated getting up early, but for some reason they were excited.  We watched the film then my parents made scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Ah, memories.

Thank You Magnus, that is the film I remember.  Complete with rockets!  I had forgotten that Barry Bostwick was in it as well.  Excellent find, now I can be put out of my misery.  Oh the memories of bad 80's pap...

Doesn't everyone want a bike like this in rush hour...
