Is it standalone or should I watch season one? I mostly avoided it, despite liking the limited Flan I've seen thus far, because it seemed like it used a lot of jump scares, which I usually don't like regardless of how well done they are, but if it veers away from the horror, like how the book does, I think it could be interesting. Something like The Little Stranger, a film (and book?) that feels indebted to gothic fiction and works like TTotS, is what I'm thinking about.
Do feel bad though, would like to up my number of films from women directors I see theatrically in 2020.
