I would move heaven and earth to see the Three Colors Trilogy on the big screen.
Yeah, that day is going to be
awesome.
I will spread it across a few days and pick 3 (as well as the underlined ones):
Breaking Away
Cinema Paradiso
8 Women
I did not pick Rashamon, because I figured you would have underlined it if you were interested.
Yeah, I probably should give
Rashomon another shot. So many people love it. At the time, I was fresh off of some pretty deep philosophy courses and
Rashomon was shallow in comparison. I bet the story comes off better (it is Kurosawa, after all) with a bit of distance.
@ '11 and '12. If those films define those years the artistic world is pretty CINECAST!ed
Hah. I think these were the best-performing films at their box office the past two years.
The Artist was insanely popular down here.
The King's Speech definitely feels like a weak choice - I would have preferred they sneak in something cinematic, like
Uncle Boonmee or
The Tree of Life. Problem is, we definitely had walk-outs and boos at
The Tree of Life screening I attended. The dinosaurs, in particular, were not popular.
