or ?

I'd love to throw in my two cents for Elena. One of the best film I've seen in theaters this year but maybe there is something Russian-specific about it (my family comes from Russia).

I wouldn't call TDKR top notch, and using TDK as an example isn't good if you don't want to set up expectations the movie can't match.

I suppose you're right.  I'm just coming down off of a high of seeing it in IMAX, only my second film I've seen in that format.

Which post-Apocalypse Now Coppola films are worth seeing? Right now I'm thinking about seeing Tucker: The Man and his Dream (for Jeff Bridges) and Dracula (for Gary Oldman). I'm also considering The Outsiders, and Youth Without Youth for something more recent.

If you can focus on Oldman's performance, and ignore some of the side issues (*cough*Keanu*cough*) then Dracula is a good film. Oh yeah and Tom Waits (on the good side of the equation).

I can find something to like about most of them. Would stay away from Jack (because Robin Williams) and Rainmaker (because it's just unremarkable).

For me there's just two catagories:
-The films that could've been made by anybody, and are decent or awful (Tucker, Jack)
-The films that have a more distinctive feel, and are decent or awful (GFIII, Dracula)

His more obscure stuff is not the gem factory that it sometimes is for other directors.

If you're not opposed to occasionally watching films primarily for their filmmaking and imagery, then I recommend One from the Heart and Rumble Fish.
