Well I have screening passes for both tomorrow night, and have to pick one. Am leaning to After Earth. Luckily Frances Ha and Kon Tiki come out here on Friday as well, so I have those to look forward to this weekend.

After Earth or Now You See Me?

Sorry, Dylan Thomas. I would say to go gentle in to that M. Night.

What should be the order of my priority?

Frances Ha
Love is All You Need
Kon Tiki

Frances Ha is more than likely locked in at #1, so really it's a question between the other two. Will probably see both, but which first!?

If you watch Kon-Tiki you should also try to get hold of the original documentary from 1950 by Heyerdahl himself. Better than this feature film imo.

Frances Ha three times. Then after that probably LIAYN followed by KON TIKI, I guess. Neither one of those interests me all that much.

Assuming they are all still there (may not be, don't know), and only there, next week, which single film should I see:

Frances Ha
Stories We Tell
Before Midnight
The East
Kings of Summer

The last three aren't out in Philly until next Friday, but imagine I'll only have time to see just one of these things, which is a bummer, but I blame my local theater. Still wasting screens on that Bier thing rather than adding Ha or Stories We Tell and doubling down on the amount of After Earth and Now You See Me screens

If I had to just choose one of those it would be Before Midnight. In close contest with Frances Ha, but definitely Before Midnight if I could see just one.

So (and this is a ways off, but no harm in asking), I usually really enjoy TCM's Summer Under the Stars in August where each day's movies all star the same actor/actress. Now I have some I'd really love to check out, but frankly I'm busy with work and my movie watching has gone from about 10 a month to 3 a month but I will have quite a bit more free time in August, so I've decided to limit myself to one movie per day (based on the ones I'm interesed in). I watch so much on my computer that DVR space isn't a problem unless I were to in fact record and watch all the movies each day, but like I said- I'm sticking to one per day for now.

So Filmspotters, with each actor/actress and based on which ones I selected, how would you rank the movies? Not in terms of that performer in the movie, but just in terms of the movies themselves. For example you'd rank Bogart's five, Guinness' three and so on and so on (or at least just pick the best). I know some of these are forum favorites and feel free to recommend one even if you haven't seen the others. I really want to get back to my movie-watching ways. Apologies for typos.
