Two filmspotting engagements in one year!  Who's next?

Sounds like a good poll question.  ;)

Can I bet it won't be Sam?

I'm gonna short myself on this question, though it seems likely that I've got a date upcoming.

I found my old 4th generation iPod (classic). It was one of the last ones that supported FireWire transfers. The sync speed is so amazingly fast. I just transferred 570 songs (4GB worth) in 6 minutes.

By comparison, my iPod touch takes 40 minutes to transfer a few albums over USB to flash memory. So, in conclusion, Apple hasn't cared enough to improve on 7 year old technology. In fact, they have chosen to worsen it.

I miss the old/cool Apple--back when they cared about performance....

Yup - I loved the firewire - never understood why they discontinued using it.

Probably USB2 would be cheaper since it is much more widespread and in theory should be slightly faster.  I don't think a lot of the other non-Apple devises wanted to support 2 standards when the only gain small amount of sales having a Firewire devise at the time.

If you find today's USB devise faster then an old Firewire devise, then I something seems wrong by just looking at the specs.

Congrats jdc.

I'm writing the review for Casino Royale (1967). The Bond marathon returns today!

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Trying to work my way back onto the forum in a consistent manner. It isn't really working, which is sad.
