Just getting home from work, I have logged 154 hrs in the past 3 weeks. I am exhausted.

We need think of a way to move all Filmspotters out to the PNW!

I'm down! Care to take a young chap (w/History degree) in until he lands on his feet?

I almost moved to Portland six years ago.

It's depressing to ponder the trajectory my life could have taken...

I could just kick everyone out of my house and have you guys move in.

There's plenty of work.  As long as you don't want money for it.   I've been doing that for more than ten years.

Some reasons why everyone (especially Junior) should visit Portland:

Photos of Portland

I'd love to live in Portland. Anybody got a job for a young man with an English degree out there?

You mean besides selling coffee, books and/or popcorn?

fixed your post.  I think Powells is the only book store left

But what a book store it is! I've oft dreamt of getting lost in that monstrosity, only to burrow into a rack in the Media Reference section for warmth.

Yes it sounds ideal. And when the FBI storm the enclave, we won't notice for watching films.

Really?  The bookstores of Seattle are still doing fine.  Not Borders of course, but the used bookstore trade seems as vibrant as ever.  I'd imagine business at used bookstores would boom during recessions, as people are forced to sell off books and also pay less for the ones they do buy.
