On a relatively clear day in Portland, you may not see forever, but you can see...

And at the east end of that bridge is my house.  See it?  Right near the hospital?

And of course that's our other mountain, Mt St Helens...you know, that one that blue it's top back in 1980

I remember exactly where I was when that happened.

I don't, but I remember the aftermath.  Everything in Spokane was covered in ash (it was like snow, only warm and really, really soft).  I had just turned four.

If you step out onto my back porch you see this:

If you look out my kitchen window, you see a house.  :P
If only the builder had turned my house just a little.

I have to share two great things that happened today!
I got to do some voice work for the audio version of a children's magazine and I have been invited to attend, as a post degree student, the TMA 498R Special Topics in Media Art: Great Films, at the University. It's an opportunity to show my worth as a possible candidate for their graduate program.

That's awesome, Sandy!  Good luck with that!

What are we doing?  The Kimes' household Sing Along with Mary Poppins Night!  So much fun!

I can't wait for your reviews of these. I am absolutely infatuated with Fish Tank and I loved Submarine.

Oh dear. I hesitate writing about Fish Tank since it's so loved here. I didn't hate it but it's not one of the best movies I've seen so to say. Maybe I should just keep silent about this one... Nah. I'll see what I can do. But don't expect a love song.

@Sandy: Would you mind swapping life with me?

Let's see... Beautiful Swedish woman, who speaks at least two languages fluently; has a wonderful way with words and is very personable.   Yes, yes I would!

You'd get disappointed at the view from my window. And my current job is lightyears from your as comes to doing something cool, creative and challenging. I don't know how it happened, but somewhere on my way I did some less-than-optimal decisions, ending up with a job that is quite unexciting.

But, oh, wait, that's not so clever to say if you're trying to market the idea of a swap between us!

Forget about what I just wrote! I'll just say: Awesome! It's a deal! I think it should work out fine, we're about the same age, and we both love bittersweet romance on the screen... If we're lucky people won't even notice we've switched. ;)
