Ordering parts for a new computer. So exciting! My current one has served me well, but it's really starting to show it's age for a lot of what I use it for. Of course now that I've ordered the parts, using it will be unbearable during the three-day wait for shipping. ;D

Hehe, I know that feeling :)

Hit me with some specs, yo. Lets have a nerd moment. What'd you get?

I do believe at this point it's more useful to take note of my non-nerd moments. ;D The main components are:

Core i5 2500k
8GB DDR3 1600
Radeon HD 6950 2GB
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Mobo
120GB Corsair Force GT SSD (What I'm most excited about!)

Plus I just picked up a second 22" monitor for a dual setup, and got an awesome new mouse. I didn't actually budget for those, but the damage is done!

Dealing with the stupidity of Comcast. Our internet went down a few days ago, and after it came back on everything works, but my Netflix on my PS3 and my TomTom app on my laptop. The TomTom tells me that it ca no longer use its web connector port. The NF instant application loads, but when I play a movie it loads about 10% then tells me it can't connect to the internet. I've dealt with NF and Sony already, the problem is not on their ends. The issue is the modem, because when I reset it I can play NF, but as soon as I stop the movie or turn off NF instant/the PS3 it won't load again. Comcast can't figure out the problem, and yeah, this sucks.

Comcast just sent me a brand-new modem unsolicited because mine was so old (I'd had it for 7 1/2 years).

Haven't noticed much of a difference.

Well, modem tech hasn't changed at all in 10 years. in fact, most of the US's internet services aren't even close to reaching the 54mbit/s limit of wireless G routers--since the national average is something like 1.5mbit/s.
