Difficult to choose, so many great films, but I went with It Happened One Night.

Top Tier:
It Happened One Night
Mary Poppins
Double Indemnity
Duck Soup
The African Queen
Amadeus

Once more, oad's and my tastes seem to be almost identical, because that's just how I would rank them (I would have to see Double Indemnity again to be sure). For me Nightmare Before Christmas would place just below Mary Poppins, and I would put Dog Day Afternoon right around where Amadeus is.

I don't think I have ever seen Lethal Weapon, and Au Hazard Balthazar is still on the 'To Do'-List as well.

Other then you me and bill there seems to be a lot of negativity towards NBC. I don't get it.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Me neither, it is such a delightful and well told story. I mean we have a skeleton for the lead and we are cheering for him.

Yep, it's a very charming, it's original, it's fun, it's very catchy but also well put together musically, I can't find anything to dislike about it.

Jack is a weak character and the songs are pretty terrible and they seem to slow everything down.

Hopefully this makes sense, but Amadeus might be the best made film out of the bunch (I guess technically speaking), but I really love Dog Day Afternoon, it's fantastic.

I'd rank them as such (and I consider them all to be good films)...

1. Dog Day Afternoon
2. Amadeus
3. It Happened One Night
4. Double Indemnity
5. The African Queen
6. Duck Soup
7. Lethal Weapon
8. The Nightmare Before Christmas

I was too young (maybe 4?) to remember enough about Mary Poppins to say if I'd still like it or not.

An amazing set of films, most of which are on my top 100.

Duck Soup
Amadeus
Mary Poppins
Dog Day Afternoon
The Nightmare Before Christmas
It Happened One Night
Double Indemnity

My wife doesn't like the choices.  I quote, "You can tell them that they're crazy for comparing apples and oranges."  She doesn't like trying to choose between Amadeus and Mary Poppins.  She's not one for making ranking lists, actually.
