As a guy who often thinks about a movie first in terms of genre, you all care a lot about genres.

I don't know if I care so much as I find it fun to talk about.
+1

Le voyage dans la lune (1902) is a sci-fi movie, Apollo 13 (1995) isn't. I feel that Gravity plays more like the latter. As Teproc said, some James Bond movies have more sci-fi stuff in them.

Star Wars without it's mythological superstructure would be the emptiest barrel in the galaxy.

RE: James Bond
Yes, JB borrows from the sci fi genre, just as it does from many other genres, and makes them all boring.  Moonraker is the most sci fi of all James Bonds and it is one of the most dull.  Never have lasers been so lifeless. It is always better when it sticks to it's appropriate genre, action.   I think that using James Bond as a point of argument about genre is pretty weak.

That's a fun list, even if I would argue that Suicide Squad shouldn't be on the "best" list of anything.

Suicide Squad shouldn't be on lists at all. We should all just forget it happened and erase its every mention from the internet.

Good list. Was able to add Summer 1993, Never Goin' Back, and Slice to my Amazon Prime cue.
