Having watched The Secret of Kells a couple of times, here's a little love for it.

Very Irish in the way that Miyazaki is Japanese.

1) Up
2) Mary & Max
3) Toy Story 3
4) Mulan
5) Monster's Inc.

There's plenty of anime I like, but none that I really love. Probably my favourites would be Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Grave of the Fireflies and Akira

1. Millennium Actress
2. Fantasia
3. Winter Days

Is it me or are all the good animated films made recently?

As a lover of hand drawn cel animation, I could not disagree more. But that's just me... :(

(I'm limiting myself to feature-length, lest Looney Tunes shorts dominate the field.)

5. WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?
4. JIN-ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE
3. NINJA SCROLL
2. COWBOY BEBOP: KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR
1. WALTZ WITH BASHIR

I'll only include feature-length animation, but everything by Don Hertzfeldt and Nick Park is pure joy for me.

5. Princess Mononoke
4. The Incredibles
3. Finding Nemo
2. The Castle of Cagliostro
1. Spirited Away

Wow, with Pixar and Miyazaki, there's no room for anything else. If I were to do a top 10, I think only one film would be neither Pixar or Studio Ghibli (Metropolis -2001)
