I really enjoyed The Royal Tenenbaums. However The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou; Hotel Chevalier; The Darjeeling Limited; and Fantastic Mr. Fox do not impress me at all, generally they bored me.

1. Royal Tenenbaums
2. Darjeeling Limited/Hotel Chevalier
3. Rushmore
4. Fantastic Mr. Fox
5. Bottle Rocket
6. Life Aquatic

I still remember seeing Royal Tenenbaums in theaters at age 17; it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm kind of surprised it beats out Rushmore in the poll, as I'd always assumed it was preferred among most people. I like that one, too, but Hackman's performance is incredible in ways that even Bill Murray isn't in Rushmore.

I'm curious, too: my wife loathes Wes Anderson movies. I don't know how I got her to see Fantastic Mr. Fox, but she couldn't stand it. Anyone else have that, where the significant other can't stand these movies? I can see why it would happen, but I love them (except for Life Aquatic, which is cool to look at, but emptier in its character development).

I'm not sure how she feels about the others, but I remember my wife falling asleep when we went to see Life Aquatic.  We have radically different taste in movies, though.

I think my wife would've preferred sleeping. She's never seen Life Aquatic or Darjeeling Limited (the latter I remember seeing in a theater by myself one afternoon in the fall of 2007), but I imagine she'd feel similarly.

Not sure if anyone has ever mentioned this... but why does Wes Anderson hate dogs?
